About HIVMatch?
On 22 July 2006 Hivmatch was launched as the first exclusively HIV/AIDS UK based online dating site offering superb annual membership.
When ever the BBC or other media want to discuss online dating in the HIV sector they always contact us for our opinions or to ask our members if they would like to comment anonymously or take part in any discussion. Hivmatch concentrates on all the issues associated with HIV dating as opposed to other sites that include STD's.
We have run a Google campaign since 2006 ensuring we constantly have new members joining leading to a large established community. Since the site launched to date the members so far have sent each other over 98000 internal emails and we have had five marriages that we know of and many happy relationships.
If you are still unsure then just have a look at the testimonials from our members going back over the past 4 years. Their feedback really kept us going especially in the first two years while we were building a membership base. Good luck what ever you decide and please use the Contact Us section if you would like any additional information.
Thanks...Nigel and Rich

Hivmatch in the News
Hivmatch featured on Radio 4's Womans Hour to 3000000 listeners along with Lisa Power from the Terrence Higgins Trust
I (Rich) took part in a live phone in on radio Dublin.
Hivmatch took part in a live interview to 600,000 listeners on BBC Radio 2's Jeremy Vine Show. A number of the site members have also offered to take part to share their experiences of dating when HIV positive.
We have had articles in the Times, Telegraph, Mail on Sunday, Reading Chronicle and have had discussions with a BAFTA award winning Channel 4 documentary Team.
The site and some of its members also featured on Thames Valley Tonight in a comprehensive health special. The members wanted to take part anonymously in the feature to explain how the site had changed their lives for the better. They could now date like everyone else not even having to mention HIV. It was great to see.
Note: We did not pass any members information to the production team. We merely posted on the forum that we had been contacted about a documentary and left contact information for any members who were interested in taking part.
So in a nutshell, we are a very established site WITH which the HIV Charities have confirmed as a vital resource to help people's confidence and self esteem. All our income has been put back into developing the site for the benefit of our members and we have a fantastic group of men and women who have found love, friendship and support from within the Hivmatch community.
Good luck whatever you decide :)
Rich and Nigel

HIVMatch New Policy
Hivmatch need to take details of your email address on registration to comply with government legislation combating money laundering. After you have registered we will ONLY contact you through the internal email within the site which is fully encrypted. This allows us to guarantee your personal privacy.
How much personal information do I need to provide and is it secure?
- To register we only need your name along with your postal and email address.
We need your email address to contact you and your postcode so any member can search the database for other members living nearby. We need your full name and address to ensure we comply with the UK governments tax regulations and to provide an audit trail to combat potential money laundering.
None of your details will be visible to anyone on the site and we store them fully encrypted on a secure server complying fully with the Data Protection Act 1998.
Hivmatch is registered with the government's Information Commissioner's Office to fully comply with the above act.
How does the registration process work?
It is quick and easy and only takes a few minutes. All you need to do is enter your name, email and postal address and agree to the terms and conditions of the site which includes the fact that you are over 18 years of age.
You will then be taken to the UK's leading independent provider of secure online card payments to pay for your chosen subscription. As soon as the transaction is complete you will be taken back to the Hivmatch homepage to login with your chosen email address and password. This should all only take a few minutes. You are then able to logon to the site and enter your personal profile. We would encourage you to take some time doing this to really explain who you are and what type of person you would like to contact. All the other features on the site are then ready for you to use. Uploading a photo will ensure that you get the most from the site.
If anything goes wrong with the registration who can I contact and when?
The hivmatch team will deal personally with all members' questions. This is a community based site and unlike some of the large main stream dating sites we personally answer all questions without any automated robot type responses. Even if we cannot fix every problem immediately we will always reply promptly and keep you informed while we resolve your issue.
Please contact us as soon as you notice any problems. The team will be looking out for your emails all the day and evenings but we do have to get to bed at some stage!
Why do I have to pay before being able to enter HIVMatch?
This dating community is all about fun, making friends and hopefully finding some romance. It is how ever by its nature very different from a main stream dating site with respect to the privacy of the membership. Committing to a 6 month or annual subscription ensures serious members, helps us protect the privacy of our members and also allows us to keep costs to a minimum.
How do I know HIVMatch is a reputable site in it for the long term?
We have been advertising on Google since May 2006 and receiving good feedback from satisfied members. We invested thousands of pounds in the site design and are registered with Companies House. Finally you will notice that our membership subscriptions are paid for via Paypal who are the UK's leading independent provider of secure online payments. We have successfully complied with all their stipulations aimed at protecting them as the provider and you the customer.
Finally, will you share my personal information with another affiliated company or associated site?
No. We are a new company who are not tied in any way to any existing dating site. In NO circumstances will your details be passed on to any third party for any reason what so ever. If for instance an AIDS based charity is looking for feedback from the HIV community we would merely offer to put a free link on our site. No matter how reputable the organisation, your data stays securely encrypted with us and us only. This will never change.
What happens when my membership expires? Will you re bill me automatically?
When your membership is a month from expiring we will send you a reminder email and pop up when you login. This will be repeated 1 week from expiry. After expiry you may still logon and you will have the option to rejoin and all your details will be kept or to delete your account.
We will NOT automatically re bill you.
What have we missed that you need to know?
If you are still not sure about joining then please email info@hivmatch.co.uk with any more questions. We will add the common ones to this list and the FAQ for the benefit of other potential members.
